The Rain & Deep Connection with the Earth

Last night, around 1 am, I was sleeping and woke up by the soft sound of a rainy drizzle. The soothing rhythm of raindrops against my window was a delightful music that called me. I couldn’t resist the temptation to experience the first rain of the season. As I opened the window, the cold air rushed in, behaving like a playful monkey swinging from tree to tree. It danced around my face, bringing with it the refreshing scent of rain-soaked earth.

I stood there for a good 15-20 minutes, completely lost in the experience. The air felt like a gentle loving touch of nature on my skin, and the sound of the rain was a peaceful music for my soul. It was a moment of pure satisfaction, a deep connection with nature that filled me with peace and contentment. This simple yet profound experience made me reflect the bond we share with the Earth and the environment.

The Deep Bond Between Humans and Nature

Have you ever wondered why rain brings such joy and satisfaction? Why do we feel a sense of peace and renewal during a rainfall? This bond with nature is not just an emotional experience but also deeply rooted in our traditions and practices.

Indian Traditions and Environmental Worship

In India, the relationship with nature goes beyond appreciation; it is deeply spiritual and deeply seated in daily life. We see nature not as a resource to be used but as a sacred entity to be revered and protected. This reverence is reflected in various traditions and practices.

Sun Worship: Surya Namaskar

Every morning, millions of Indians perform Surya Namaskar, or Sun Salutation. This ancient practice is a way to show gratitude to the Sun, which is considered a source of life and energy. The Sun is seen as a deity, Surya, who provides light, warmth, and sustenance. By bowing down to the Sun, we acknowledge our dependence on this vital source of energy and express our gratitude for its blessings.

The Sacred Tulsi Plant

In almost every Indian household, you will find a Tulsi (holy basil) plant. Tulsi is not just a plant; it is revered as a goddess. It is believed to have divine properties and is worshipped daily. Tulsi is known for its medicinal properties and is considered a purifier of the environment. It symbolizes the integration of health, spirituality, and environmental consciousness.

Worship of Snakes, Oxen, and Varun Dev

Indians also worship various animals and elements of nature, recognizing their importance in the ecosystem. Snakes are worshipped during Nag Panchami, symbolizing respect for all creatures, even those we might fear. The ox is honoured during festivals like Pongal and Makar Sankranti, acknowledging its role in agriculture and sustenance.

Varun Dev, the god of water, is revered to ensure the availability of water, which is essential for life. This worship signifies respect and gratitude for water, a precious resource that sustains all living beings.

The Science Behind Environmental Worship

These traditions are not just cultural practices but are deeply rooted in science and environmental awareness. Worshipping nature and its elements encourages conservation and sustainable living.

Promoting Environmental Awareness

By worshipping the Sun, Tulsi, and other elements of nature, we cultivate a sense of respect and responsibility towards the environment. This respect translates into actions that protect and preserve nature. For instance, planting and caring for Tulsi plants increases greenery and helps purify the air.

Understanding Ecosystem Balance

Worshipping animals like snakes and oxen helps maintain the balance of the ecosystem. Snakes play a crucial role in controlling the population of pests and rodents. Honouring them promotes their protection and helps maintain ecological balance. Similarly, recognizing the importance of oxen in agriculture encourages sustainable farming practices.

Water Conservation

Reverence for Varun Dev highlights the importance of water conservation. By acknowledging water as a divine gift, people are more likely to use it judiciously and avoid wastage. This ancient practice promotes sustainable use of water resources, ensuring availability for future generations.

The Spiritual Connection

Beyond the scientific and environmental aspects, there is a deep spiritual connection with nature in Indian traditions. This connection cherishes a sense of belonging and harmony with the universe. When we pray to the Sun, nurture a Tulsi plant, or celebrate nature’s elements, we reinforce our bond with the environment and recognize our place within the larger web of life.

As I stood by my window last night, feeling the first rain on my face, I was reminded of the profound connection we share with nature. This connection is not just a source of joy and satisfaction but also a reminder of our responsibility to protect and preserve the environment.

Indian traditions of worshipping nature elements are a testament to the wisdom of our ancestors, who understood the importance of living in harmony with nature. By following these practices, we not only honour our heritage but also contribute to the well-being of our planet.

In a world where environmental challenges are becoming increasingly severe, let us draw inspiration from these traditions and strive to live sustainably. Let us recognize the sacredness of nature and our duty to protect it. After all, the rain that brings us so much joy is a gift from the Earth, and it is our responsibility to ensure that this gift continues to bless future generations.

A Positive Mindset: Life’s Hidden Blessings

A few days ago, I found myself in my favourite quiet spot, a serene park nestled away from the city’s hustle. Surrounded by towering trees and the melody of singing birds, it was the ideal setting for some mindfulness and reflection on the blessings in my life. Despite my intentions to focus on positive thinking, my thoughts drifted towards the negatives, listing recent setbacks and making it challenging to maintain a positive psychology mindset, filled with positive emotions.

Feeling overwhelmed by these negative thoughts, I realized I needed a strategy to break free from this mental trap. The solution came when I decided to compare my current life with my past. This simple yet effective technique propelled me towards a mindset more oriented towards positive thinking, positive psychology, and fostering positive emotions.

Reflecting on my journey, I acknowledged how much better my life is now. The once daunting problems have faded away, making room for progress and unexpected joys. This realization filled me with an overwhelming sense of gratitude, positive emotions, and a genuinely happy, positive attitude towards life.

This moment of clarity taught me a valuable lesson about life’s perspective. While we each view the world through our unique lenses, it’s crucial to remember that focusing on positive emotions maintaining a positive mindset, and understanding how to keep a positive mindset truly enriches our lives.

In today’s world, where negative news often dominates, it’s easy to be consumed by pessimism. However, emphasizing the good, embracing the love around us, and nurturing a positive mindset can significantly enhance our lives, spread joy, and foster positive emotions to those we encounter, embodying how to live a positive life.

Self-Love is a True Savior:

One profound lesson I’ve embraced is the importance of self-love. Recognizing your worth is the cornerstone of happiness, enabling you to extend more love and kindness to others, while also prioritizing self-care practices and fostering positive emotions.

Being mindful of the influences we allow into our lives is crucial. By surrounding ourselves with positivity and steering clear of negativity and drama, we can sustain a positive mindset and attitude, filled with positive emotions.

Mind Your Own Business:

Another secret to happiness is minding your own business. Getting entangled in others’ issues can lead to unnecessary stress. Focusing on your personal growth and journey promotes mindfulness, inner peace, and a life filled with positive emotions and a good mindset.

Real Treasure: Open Hearts and Helping Hands

Keeping an open heart and being willing to assist others not only benefits them but also enriches your life. The joy derived from making a positive impact, embodying the spirit of ‘open hands open hearts’ and ‘helping hearts helping hands’, is a testament to our interconnectedness and the power of kindness, fostering loving emotions.

In conclusion, my recent retreat to the park was a profound lesson in perspective and gratitude. Life’s journey, with its highs and lows, becomes more joyful and fulfilling when we focus on the positives. Embracing blessings, practising self-love, showing kindness, and remaining open to life’s wonders can reveal that life is full of surprises, making us feel like the luckiest people in the world, brimming with positive emotions and a positive mindset for a truly happy life.

To elaborate, when you start to embrace self-love, you begin to see the world through a different lens. You stop comparing yourself to others and start appreciating your unique qualities. This self-love radiates outward, making it easier to spread kindness and love to those around you. It’s like a ripple effect. When you are content with yourself, you naturally spread that happiness to others, fostering positive emotions and a positive attitude, enhancing the atmosphere wherever you go.

Being selective about what you let into your life is also crucial. Surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you. Positive influences can significantly alter your perspective of the world. They help you stay focused on what’s important and steer clear of negativity, promoting a positive mindset and nurturing positive emotions in your daily life.

Another important point is to avoid getting caught up in other people’s narratives. Everyone has their own journey and their own battles. By staying focused on your own life, you can sidestep unnecessary stress and drama. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t offer support to others, but it’s crucial to know when to step back and allow others to navigate their own issues, practising mindfulness and self-care, which are essential for personal growth.

Helping others is one of the most rewarding experiences. When you open your heart and lend a hand, you not only make a difference in someone else’s life but also enrich your own. There’s a unique joy in knowing you’ve helped someone. It’s a testament to the fact that kindness and generosity are powerful, embodying the spirit of ‘helping hearts helping hands’ and ‘open hearts’, and fostering positive emotions throughout the community.

So, remember to keep focusing on the good things in your life. Cultivate the habit of recognizing, speaking, and feeling the blessings and love that come your way. This positive mindset will guide you through life’s challenges with a sense of peace and purpose. And always keep your heart open to the surprises life throws at you. They often arrive when least expected and can make you realize just how blessed you truly are, fostering positive emotions and an open mindset, enriching your life’s journey.

In the end, life is about finding balance. There will always be challenges, but there will also always be blessings. By focusing on the positives, loving yourself, being kind to others, and keeping your heart open, you can create a life filled with joy and fulfilment. And you’ll discover that, like me, you are truly one of the luckiest people in the world, embracing positive emotions, a positive mindset, and mindfulness, which are key to a harmonious life.

A Morning Prayer Can Bring Serenity to Your Life

Few days back, I met with one of my old friend Viyaan, who was an atheist and used to keep that as a crown on his head in college days. Six months back he met with an accident and almost lost his 5 years old baby daughter in the accident. She came out of danger a few months back because of a single hope of her father and his prayers to god to give his child back. He  brought his daughter home 2 weeks back and now he takes her with him to the temple everyday.

I was shocked and my mind kept tickling by asking what changed Viyaan’s life philosophy from being atheist to going to the temple everyday. Have you ever tried to understand why people go to the temple, church, or mosque? If yes, then Why do they go? What do they exactly find there?

Let’s deep dive into this article which is purely connected to Spiritual Science.

The Significance and Essence of Prayer:

Prayer is the deep harmony with the supernatural power you believe in. So, I want you to recollect the days when you have prayed deeply in any spiritual place and think about how you felt. Some people may have felt happy, peaceful, satisfied, or just relaxed. So basically, if you are willingly praying, then you will feel the mentioned feelings.

When We Pray..

Basically, Our mind is almost like a monkey who keep jumping from one thought to another thought. When we pray we keep a spiritual energy in front of our eyes or in mind and try to talk only positive things. We talk about our own wishes some time we pray for our loved ones or for entire world.

What Happens when We Pray

Now let’s talk about what exactly happens with the mind when we pray. All of a sudden, we become conscious, and our focus turns toward our thoughts, and we start thinking only positively. When we pray, we may not realize that we’re sending positive messages toward the energy we believe in, and it works because our thoughts are solely positive during prayer. Hence, we feel a sense of peace, connection, and alignment with the divine energy.

Also, our subconscious mind does not know the difference between real or fake. It just believe on thoughts running through our mind. We start feeling positive and the best part is if you repeat your prayers it will start becoming your reality.

Now let’s discuss the benefits of Prayer:

I. Prayer helps you stay focused and positive throughout the day.

Regular prayer sessions offer a dedicated time to focus on positive thoughts and intentions, boosting mental clarity and concentration. This enhanced focus helps in staying motivated, productive, and positive throughout the day.

II. Prayer reduces stress and helps you feel calm and centered.

Daily prayer provides a tranquil moment to unwind and reflect, reducing anxiety and promoting mental calmness. This practice helps in managing stress effectively, leading to a peaceful state of mind. A prayer can enhance mental clarity and focus by redirecting attention away from distractions and towards positive.

III. It strengthens your bond with your beliefs or spirituality.

Engaging in prayer daily strengthens your spiritual connection, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose in life. This connection provides comfort, guidance, and a deeper understanding of one’s beliefs, leading to inner fulfillment. It builds hope and helps you bounce back from challenges

IV. Prayer promotes empathy and forgiveness, improving relationships with others.

Prayer promotes qualities such as empathy, compassion, and forgiveness, fostering healthier and more meaningful connections with others. By nurturing a loving and understanding attitude, prayer contributes to building strong, supportive, and fulfilling relationships in both personal and professional spheres.

I was reading and really loved one thing on the internet and I really wanted to share it with you. Follow Elizabeth Gilbert’s journey in “Eat, Pray, Love.” She begins by indulging in Italian cuisine, then seeks inner peace through prayer in India, and finally finds love and self-discovery in Bali. This story teaches us to appreciate life’s small joys, connect with our inner selves, and open our hearts to love. Whether you’re in search of adventure or personal growth, “Eat, Pray, Love” offers valuable lessons on following your dreams and finding happiness.

Here are some practical steps for your to add Prayers in a daily routine:

Set Regular Time:

Pick a daily time for prayer that fits your schedule. Consistency helps make it a habit, whether it’s morning, noon, or night.

Choose Your Way:

“A solution to fight with our inner demons”

We are going to cover some practical tips in order to fight our own inner demons. Let’s first try to find out the meaning of ‘Inner demons’. We all use different personas and have 2 faces one is ‘what we are with people’ and the other face is ‘what we actually are’.

We can also called persona as Masks. The outer world knows our one face and we take off the masks when we are alone or with our loved ones.

In this article, we are going to talk about our ‘Inner demons’.

Our true self is aware of our inner demons.

Let’s simplify this: the demon inside our mind is an Inner demon. The negative thoughts are the demons of our mind like guilt, anger, fear, hatred, jealousy, etc.

You must be thinking that being human, we all have to face our feelings, as our mind works on the chemical hormones released which impact us in such a way to have these emotions inside us. And I totally agree with you.

Hence, we are going to find a solution to treat our inner demons, which are a part of our mind and we should understand it.

  1. Never to neglect inner thoughts:

I would suggest to go to the root of these emotions. Ask yourself, from where they have come?

Why you are feeling like this? Be with it, understand it.

They will haunt your mind & hence called ‘Demons’. Sit with it for some time. Try to understand the reason behind the way you are feeling.

Most of the time, we are being with others to keep the first mask alive and forget to entertain or understand our inner selves. It cries or sometimes screams louder. The solution is never to neglect inner thoughts or inner demons.

  1. Let your thoughts align:

One of the major things we should never forget to do is to spend some quality time with ourselves.

In the spiritual world, we call it meditation. Let me tell you one of the coolest facts: meditation is not rocket science. Most people keep saying that they want to start meditation and cannot because they don’t know the exact way of meditation.

Trying to focus on a single task you are doing is one of the kind of meditation.

The meditation we talk is that We just need to focus on our breath and let our thoughts align to entertain our inner thoughts. It helps us to understand ourselves better.

Initially, we all hate ourselves because our inner demons rule our actions. We slowly understand the difference between good and bad. We try to feel others’ pain and their situation.

  1. Authenticity is the wisest decision:

One of the best things you can try is to be genuine. Being real will solve your 90% problem. Your mind and soul will not fight for the decision you have  taken.

The most important is that we should accept ourselves as we are. It’s okay to fail, but we should rise each time with a little more effort, and trust ourselves more than anyone else trusts us.

Being Authentic will only help you accept yourself and make improvements.

Trust me, genuine people have greatest bond with others and gain their faith by being real.

  1. Feeling of gratitude will bring a lot in life:

Thanking someone genuinely with a pure heart is something people crave for. Being grateful will have a huge positive impact on your life. Because you have multiple reasons to smile. Try to bring a feeling of gratitude into your life. Here are some action points I want to give:

Pray, it will bring positivity into your life. If you do not believe in God, trust the universe.

If someone is putting in the smallest effort to help you, be thankful for the act of kindness. Adapt a great habit of thanking everyone.

Trust the supreme power of the universe. Thank the universe for every little thing that happens to you. It’s okay to face a critical situation. Thank the universe for it.

  1. Make your soul beautiful each day:

Our mind is created in such a way our entire focus is on others. We should take responsibility for our actions. Try to be more kind to others and understand their actions. We should forgive people even if they are not sorry for their action. Overcome all the negativity and try to bring positivity into your life. Whatever you focus on will increase, so we should focus on the only good part of the person or situation.

These are some practical steps I follow to fight my inner demons. Thank you for being here. Loved this article? We’d love to hear about it. Leave us a review in the comment box. The Wisdom of Well-being

Before reading this article, try to find out an answer of the reason for a need to think about ‘The Wisdom of well-being’. In our last article “A Mobile phone: 6th Finger of our Hand” we talked about our parent’s generation.

I would want you to pause and think for a moment about why we even need to look back and try to find out the wisdom of our parent’s lifestyle. Before our generation, people used to survive for more than 100 years. Now, we celebrate, if a person completes a half-century. That means people are amazed if someone lives happily crossing 50-60.

Now again, come to the lifestyle we are living. Are we thrilled with our daily routine? We live in an era where technology is ruling the world, which is appreciable. so, where we are lacking? Just try to find answers to these questions. I really want to know your idea of well-being in the comment section.

Let’s go deep into this topic.

A sunrise routine

One of the significant things our old guard used to follow is a sunrise routine. Being a morning person is the best thing anyone can add in life. I think, everyone gets up in the morning and goes to school, college or office. But the question is, are we really being morning person? Or just wake up half an hour before leaving house and running late or always in a hurry. I think first 2-3 hours of a morning rule our day. We should start doing something which makes us feel good. But ‌it should contribute to our body, brain, mind or soul which will remain and be helpful in late years of life. Here, I am talking about following a morning routine for a healthy life.

Nourishing meal practices

Old traditions used to focus on keeping a healthy diet. People used to consciously think about the food they eat. In India, we say “Anna he purnabramha” which means the food is next to God.

The food we eat passes energy to the body. If a person who is cooking is in a jolly mood, the food will pass pleasant energy and the same rule goes for the person being in a bad mood, which means vibrations are being passed by a person who cooks food. Most of us add artificial chemicals or health supplements for different purpose but do you know the side effects of these additional things which interferes in natural working tendency of a human body. We should eat more homemade food, which consumes a huge amount of love and care.

Spirit of Service

Have you ever experienced the smile on someone’s face coming because of your actions? If you have not, I would suggest consciously do something for others which will make them feel better or help them in order to increase your peace of mind and satisfaction. We are so busy in our daily life that we do not get time to help anyone. But I would say just to keep a spirit of service. This practice will automatically increase your potential of service. And you are fighting with your inner monsters by being good with people around you.

If you find someone who is being so frustrated and angry with others, sit with that person for some time in order to show some kind of love and kindness towards that person. You never know the inner battle he/she is fighting.

Sharpening our Senses

Our senses pass the signals to the brain which interprets them as sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Hence our primary focus should be on sharpening our senses in day-to-day life.

We are living in the era of ‘life, making everything easier to live’. We should consciously add some brainstorming activities in our daily life. Brainstorming activities can be anything that allows you to get out of your comfort zone. You can play chess, puzzle or something like learning a new language or practicing math or solving some calculations in mind. Deep thinking about any situation and trying to find out a resolution can also be a brainstorming activity. Challenging yourself for small things will help you learn something new.

A Desire for Well-Being

Last but not least is to have a desire for well-being. We should find a purpose in our daily actions & keep a positive attitude towards life. “Live a life like it’s your last day on the earth and you got a chance to spend it with the divine power within you.” There must be a hunger to achieve more in life. We should try to replace bad habits with good ones like practicing yoga, reading, writing a journal, exercising, meditating, feeling gratitude and deep harmony with supreme power and so on. Always decide short-term goals in mind and achieve them in order to reward yourself.

There are so many wisdoms of well-being which we forget to follow due to our busy schedule. But I think this should be most important part of our life. I would love to know the things you follow to increase your wisdom of well-being.
